PDEA dismantles Bacolod, Sibulan drug dens

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Authority in Negros Island Region (PDEA-NIR) successfully dismantled two drug dens in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental and in Sibulan town, Negros Oriental on Monday leading to the confiscation of more than P100,000 worth of suspected shabu.

Authorities nabbed three personalities in an alleged drug den in Progreso Village 1, Zone 3, Barangay Vista Alegre, Bacolod City.

Arrested were alias ‘Long Hair,’ 43, alias ‘Kent,’ 34, and alias ‘Ray,’ 34. All are residents of the barangay.

During the operation, authorities seized 5 sachets of suspected shabu weighing approximately 11 grams with a standard drug price of P74,800. Confiscated also were non-drug evidence such as improvised tooter and disposable lighter.

Meanwhile, another drug den was dismantled in Purok 5, Brgy. Magatas, Sibulan, Negros Oriental which led to the arrest of another three individuals involved in illegal drugs.

Arrested were alias ‘Roger,’ 62, alias ‘Geraldine,’ 39, and alias ‘Jiovani,’ 36 while one suspect named alias ‘Mary Ann’ remains at large. All are residents of the barangay.

Authorities seized 11 sachets of suspected shabu weighing approximately 6 grams with a standard drug price of P40,800.

The arrested individuals will face charges for violating Sections 5, 6, 7, 11, and 12, Article II of RA9165 otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.*
