The Philippine Drug Enforcement Authority in Negros Island Region (PDEA-NIR) successfully dismantled two suspected drug dens in Sibulan, Negros Oriental and in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental on Monday.
A buy-bust operation led by the agency at Purok 4, Barangay Agan-an in Sibulan town led to the arrest of three individuals who were caught in the act of using illegal drugs inside a drug den.
Arrested were, alias ‘Placido,’ 34, alias ‘JR,’ 34, and alias ‘Lito,’ 39. All suspects are residents of the barangay.
During the operation, police recovered at least 9 sachets of suspected shabu weighing to approximately 6 grams, 4 disposable lighters, 2 improvised glass tooters, 9 aluminum foil strips, and P120 believed to be proceeds from illegal drug transactions.
On the evening of the same day, another operation was carried out in Barangay 27, Bacolod City which led to the arrest of another 3 drug personalities who were inside an alleged drug den.
The operation led to the arrest of three suspects, identified by their aliases, ‘Bambi,’ 44, a resident of the area, ‘John,’ 21, a resident of Brgy. 28, and ‘Jay,’ 40, a resident of Brgy. 40.
Authorities seized 12 sachets of suspected shabu weighing approximately 16 grams. Also confiscated were the buy-bust money, 3 improvised glass tooters, 6 disposable lighters, a coin purse, and P179 believed to be proceeds from illegal drug activity.
The suspects were now under police custody and will face charges in violation of RA 9165 otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The seized illegal drugs and paraphernalia were brought to the forensic unit for proper and legal disposition.*
