The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Negros Island Region (PDEA-NIR) conducted a buy-bust operation early Monday morning that led to the dismantling of a drug den at Purok 4, Barangay Magatas, Sibulan, Negros Oriental, and the apprehension of three drug personalities.
Those arrested were alias Tufi, 26, a call center agent; alias Romeo, 20, who maintained the drug den; and alias Mitz, 26, both unemployed. All are residents of the municipality.
During the operation, authorities seized fourteen sachets of suspected shabu weighing approximately six grams, one sachet with traces of suspected shabu, and another sachet of marijuana kush weighing approximately one gram.
Also confiscated were the marked buy-bust money, one improvised glass tooter, four disposable lighters, several strips of aluminum foil, one Android mobile phone, one black pouch, and one coin purse.
The arrested suspects are now in police custody and will face criminal charges for violations of Sections 5, 6, 7, 11, and 12 of RA 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. These charges include illegal possession, selling of drugs, and maintaining a drug den.
BACOLOD DRUG BUST
Police operatives seized P544,000 worth of suspected shabu and arrested a high-value individual (HVI) during a buy-bust operation in Barangay 1, Bacolod City, early Monday morning.
The suspect, identified by the alias ‘Boyboy/Bor,’ 26, was apprehended at approximately 2:11 a.m. at Purok Bolinao.
The Bacolod City Drug Enforcement Unit recovered more or less 80 grams of the illegal substance.
The suspect is now facing charges for the sale and possession of illegal drugs under Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165. He remains under the custody of the Bacolod City Police Office pending the formal filing of the case in court.*
