As part of the Zero Waste Month, declared under Presidential Proclamation No. 760, PENRO Negros Occidental participated in advancing environmental stewardship through a clean-up and bagging activity at the Northern Negros Natural Park (NNNP) Information Center.
This year’s Zero Waste Month coincides with the 24th anniversary of Republic Act 9003, the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act, which serves as a cornerstone in promoting sustainable and responsible waste management practices in the Philippines.
All personnel took part in a bagging activity to prepare planting materials for reforestation projects as part of the organization’s unwavering dedication to greening activities.
Approximately more than 5,000 seed bags were filled with soil for the purpose of raising endemic seedlings, before they will be distributed to tree growing activities.*
