Regional fish ports unloaded a significant volume of 11,679.75 metric tons of yield during the second week of June, the Philippine Fisheries Development Authority reported.
The numbers are encouraging, the PFDA added, despite a slight drop in aggregate weekly fish unloading during the June 14 to 20 period.
The previous week was about 3.09 MT higher at 12,050.64 MT.
General Santos Fish Port and the Davao Fish Port Complex are back on track following weeks of fluctuating unloading records due to an alarming spike in Covid-19 cases.
Both ports had the highest increase in volume compared to the previous week, unloading 4,938.94 MT (10.70 percent rise) and 82.32 MT (59.33 percent), respectively.
The Navotas Fish Port Complex suffered a minor dip but still managed to deliver 3,977.57 MT.
The Zamboanga and Lucena fish ports delivered 241.98 MT and 367.90 MT respectively, the Bulan Fish Port Complex posted a 9.06 percent decline with its 1,467.06 MT haul, the Iloilo fish port recorded a 0.43 percent decline but still had a significant volume of 595.67 MT, and the recently reopened Sual Fish Port delivered 8.32 MT.*PNA
