Philippine Foremost Milling Corp. (PFMC), one of the country’s biggest flour companies, is one step closer to securing an Environmental Clearance Certificate (ECC) for the construction of its modern flour milling facility in Barangay Ingore, Iloilo City, a press release from the House of Representatives said.
The DENR-Environmental Management Bureau Region 6 successfully conducted public consultations for PFMC’s feedmill project on May 9, with more than 70 people in attendance.
The construction of the state of the art feedmill facility is expected to bring more jobs and economic benefits to the residents of the barangay.
Barangay Chairman Charity Montelijao said during the consultation that the Sangguniang Barangay of Ingore has given its greenlight to the construction and operation of the feedmill through SB Resolution No. 49 since December 2023.
She confirmed that the company has complied with all the conditions they laid down in the said resolution.
PFMC is now towards the tail end of the ECC application process. The project is expected to be up and running by the end of 2025.*
