The Philippine Sugar Technologists Association (PHILSUTECH) has scheduled this year’s edition of the seminar/symposium and farm tour on May 28-29.
Organized by the PHILSUTECH Agriculture and Farm Engineering Division headed Vice-President and Director Emmanuel Cadungog and Director Juan Jose Maria Araneta, the two-day event is open to everyone in the sugarcane industry — planters, associations, federations, technologists and all those who want to learn, grow and connect with fellow industry stakeholders.
Participants will spend the first day at the Planta Centro Hotel and Residences, Bacolod City, and will feature technical presentations and an open panel discussion on low-cost, high-output farming practices.
The day’s activities will close with a recap of the discussion and socials, where snacks and drinks will be served over good conversation, giving planters, technologists and industry partners the chance to meet, reconnect and build relationships in a relaxed setting.
Day Two of the event will feature a multi-site farm tour in La Castellana, Negros Occidental covering different soil types and variety performance demonstrations.
According to the press release, the registration fee is pegged at P2,600 per participant, inclusive of morning and afternoon snacks, lunch and transportation to and from the farm tour site in La Castellana. The number of participants is limited to only 40 persons. The deadline for registration is on May 5.
Interested participants may contact the PHILSUTECH Secretariat at mobile number (0961 815 8604), landline number (63-34) 434-1591) or email to philsutech@gmail.com. Copy of the final event program will be shared upon confirmation of registration.*
