Twelve volcanic earthquakes have been recorded at Kanlaon Volcano since Saturday midnight, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) September 1 bulletin said.
From Saturday to Sunday, PHIVOLCS said Kanlaon Volcano also emitted a 200-meter tall plume which drifted southwest.
The volcano also generated 2,669 tonnes of sulfur dioxide flux on Sunday.
On August 25, Kanlaon volcano recorded its second highest gas emissions from its crater at 7,172 tons.
Kanlaon volcano remains at Alert Level 2 due to an “increased unrest” following its explosive eruption on June 3.
Its edifice also remained inflated.*
