After all is said and done in the PICEsiklaban 2023, the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers-University of Negros Occidental (PICE UNO-R) Student Chapter again finished first in the overall medal tally in with 29,300 points as of November 27.

After days of giving other regions hope that they have a rare shot to rule the roost, the university barreled through the field on the two-day grassroots sporting event, dislodging eventual second-placer CHMSU-Talisay and third-ranked STI-WNU, and ensuring the 2nd  straight overall title dating back to the PICEsiklaban 2022.

CHMSU-Talisay, meanwhile, after leading the overall tally in the cultural event, settled for second with 26,600 points and STI-WNU marked the second runner-up with 23,000 points.

For the highlights of the sports event, UNO-R overpowered the opponents in volleyball, basketball and frisbee, securing the championship for overall sports, toppling the following runners-up STI-WNU and CHMSU- Talisay.

With goosebumps-inducing performances, CHMSU-Talisay spiced up the stage for the songs and yells, sing and dance categories, and the highlight of the event – Mr. and Ms. PICE NOC 2023, featuring the crowd’s bets Yvan Lambot and Riza Mae Lozano.

The Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers (PICE) University Negros Occidental Chapter gathered engineering students representing schools from across the province in Negros Occidental to compete with each other in a variety of games and activities.

Six schools deployed their athletes for the PICEsiklaban 2023: CHMSU-Talisay Main, Southland College (SC), Fellowship Baptist College (FBC), Systems Technology Institute’s – West Negros University (STI-WNU), Colegio San Agustin-Bacolod (CSA-B), and University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos (UNO-R).

The PICEsiklaban 2023 formally opened last November 12 at the Carlos Hilado Memorial State University (CHMSU)-Talisay Campus, and continued the second day of the event on November 19.

The games were officially closed in a ceremony held at CHMSU- Talisay Gymnasium on November 27.*
