PNP spokesperson promoted

Newly-promoted PBrig. Gen. Roderick Augustus Alba, former NOCPPO officer-in-charge.*

More than two months after he became the spokesman of the Philippine National Police, Col. Roderick Augustus Alba has been promoted to the rank of police brigadier general.

A member of the Philippine National Police Academy Class 1992, Alba used to serve as officer-in-charge of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office and later as provincial police director of Iloilo, among other key positions he occupied in Western Visayas.

The promotion of Alba and two others, including PColonels Andre Dizon and Joel Limson, which was recommended by Interior and Local Government Secretary Eduardo Año and approved by President Rodrigo Duterte, took effect January 18.

Alba used to be the deputy director of the PNP Information Technology Management System, prior to his new assignment.

Also promoted earlier were Police Major General Michael John Dubria, Chief Directorate for Intelligence (DI), Police Brigadier Generals Joel Doria, Edgar Alan Okubo, Alden Delvo.

“Let this promotion to your new rank take you to a new and wider opportunity to better serve our country and people with utmost pride, honor and dignity”, PNP chief Gen Dionardo Carlos said in a statement issued by the PNP.*
