PNP warns vs solicitations using WV chief

• GILBERT P. BAYORAN

The Police Regional Office 6 yesterday issued a statement that it has not authorized solicitation by any person, using the name of PBrig. Gen. Sidney Villaflor, the regional police director of Western Visayas.

We want to categorically deny any involvement or authorization of such solicitations by any person associated with PRO 6, or even by our Regional Director himself, regional police spokesperson PMaj. Mary Grace Socorro Borio said.

We take these allegations very seriously and are committed to upholding the highest ethical standards in all our dealings, Borio stressed.

While we value the trust and confidence of our stakeholders, partners, and especially the public that we promised to serve with dignity, respect and honesty, she pointed out that they have strict protocols, and guidelines in place, and solicitations in any form are not allowed in the PNP.

She urged anyone who has received any unauthorized solicitations claiming to be on behalf of PBrig. Villaflor, to report it to the nearest police stations.

As we investigate these allegations thoroughly, Borio said “we remain committed to our mission of serving the community with highest discipline, honesty, dedication and love to the country and our fellowmen.”*
