About P750,000 worth of suspected shabu was seized from the top 10 high value target in Western Visayas during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Estefania, Bacolod City, at about 3:15 p.m. Sunday.
Romeo Salem, 36, of Purok Villa Villeta in the barangay, was nabbed with a sling bag containing two brown envelopes sealed with packing tape and each containing five heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets of suspected shabu weighing about 75 grams, a cellular phone, the buy-bust money, and P2,000 in cash believed to be proceeds from the sale of illegal drugs, police records show.
The arrest of Salem was a joint operation of the Police Drug Enforcement Unit-6, Bacolod City Mobile Force Company, and Bacolod Station 4 operatives.
Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are being readied against Salem, the police added.*
