Policeman dies in San Enrique road crash

• GILBERT P. BAYORAN

A neophyte policeman died on Thursday in a road crash at the Candaguit bridge in Barangay Baliwagan, San Enrique, Negros Occidental.

Patrolman Kenneth Casuya, a member of the Bacolod City Police Office, was declared dead on arrival at the Don Salvador Benedicto Memorial District Hospital in La Carlota City, according to the San Enrique police.

Initial investigations conducted by the San Enrique Police Station indicated that the motorcycle driven by Casuya, 32, overshot a curved portion of the road and slammed into a cargo truck driven by Reymar Millena which was traveling in the opposite direction.

Casuya was on his way home to Brgy. Miranda, Pontevedra, in preparation to render duty at the Police Station 9 in Bacolod City, when the incident took place.

Millena is presently under the custody of the San Enrique Police Station, pending further investigations into the road crash.*
