Seven police officers assigned in Negros Island Region were honored and conferred with medals during awarding rites held on February 2 at Camp Alfredo Montelibano Sr. in Bacolod City, in recognition of their exemplary services.
The Medalya ng Kadakilaan were awarded to P/Capt. Jyan Carlo Mania, Police Corporals Raymond Brana and John Lee Alob, for the arrest of five drug suspects and recovery of P680,000 worth of suspected shabu in Barangay Nanca on January 14, as well as the seizure of four assorted high-powered guns with ammunition and a fragmentation grenade during a raid in Brgy. Consing, all in E.B. Magalona.
PBrig. Gen. Arnold Thomas Ibay, regional police director of Negros Island Region, and Lailyn Ortiz, DILG-NIR regional director, led the awarding rites and conferring of medals to Mania, who is the E.B. Magalona police chief, and two other town police personnel.
For exemplary performance in the campaign against loose firearms, the PRO-NIR also awarded Medalya ng Kadakilaan to PLt. Col. Roland Desiree Lavisto, commander of the 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company of the Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office, which also led to the successful Implementation of a search warrant on Jan. 27 in Barangay Abis, Mabinay, Negros Oriental.
The police operation resulted in the recovery of a caliber 45 pistol, three homemade guns, a hand grenade, and arrest of the suspect.
The Medalya ng Pagkilala were also awarded to PCapt. Roberto Anulacion, acting police chief of Lazi town in Siquijor, for the attainment of zero crime in the town from September to December 2025, and Patrolman Fletch John Quiliquite for saving the life of an individual at the Cambugahay Falls in Siquijor on Jan. 9.*
