In a move to modernize law enforcement and enhance operational capabilities, 20 personnel from the Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) recently completed a comprehensive seminar on drone flight and operations.
The 20 personnel were members of Bacolod City Police Office, Siquijor PNP, Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office, and Negros Occidental Police Office.
According to PRO-NIR Spokesperson Lt. Col. Joem Malong, the initiative is part of the Philippine National Police’s 5-minute Response Strategy, where they demonstrate technical specifications and basic functions of the drone, including, navigation, maneuvering, and landing procedures.
On the other hand, the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) showcased a new 5-minute Response Strategy demonstration designed to reduce police response times during emergencies.
The two-day demonstration, with participants coming from barangay captains in Bacolod City, aimed to strengthen the crucial partnership between the police and community leaders.
The goal was to test the ability of police units to arrive at a distress call within five minutes
According to BCPO, the 5-minute response is part of a larger effort to ensure rapid police deployment and immediate action in response to distress calls.
The activity was led by City Director PCOL Joeresty Coronica.*
