Five outstanding police personnel in Negros Island Region were honored and given recognition by the Police Regional Office-NIR during the flag raising ceremony held on September 29 at Camp Alfredo Montelibano Sr. in Barangay Estefania, Bacolod City.
PLt. Col. Antonio Benitez, head of the Bacolod City Police Office Drug Enforcement Unit, and Patrolman Ramon Moquerio III were both conferred with the Medalya ng Kadakilaan, in recognition for their successful buy-bust operation at Purok Cereza South, Brgy. 3, Bacolod City, on August 15, which resulted in the arrest of a High-value individual and the seizure of 109.772 grams of suspected shabu, valued at P746,449.60.
The Medalya ng Kagalingan were awarded to PLt. Col. Terrence Paul Santa Ana and PSSg Joash Bompat, both assigned at the Victorias City Police Station, for the arrest of NIR Top 1 Most Wanted Person, who is facing murder charges, on July 10, 2025, at Daan Banwa in Brgy. 9, Victorias City, Negros Occidental.
PCol. Emelie Santos received the Medalya ng Kasanayan, in recognition of her commendable leadership and invaluable contribution as Siquijor provincial police director, which led to the attainment of Outstanding Adjectival Rating for three consecutive months, covering the period of April, May, June 2025, for the Unit Performance Evaluation Rating (UPER) Assessment.
The awarding of medals was led by PCol. Dennis Esguerra, PRO-NIR Assistant Regional Director for Administration, assisted by PColonels Lito Patay and Gilbert Gorero.
On the other hand, the oathtaking and donning of ranks ceremony for the newly promoted police lieutenant colonels was led by PBrig. Gen. Arnold Thomas Ibay, PRO-NIR regional director, and Atty. Owen de Luna, the NAPOLCOM regional director for NIR.
The newly promoted police commissioned officers were PLt.Colonels Jethro Mipana, Nelson Amsiwen Jr., Ralph Lauren Morelos, Romar Pacis and Joel Senogat Jr.*
