The Police Regional Office – Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) confiscated more than P17 million worth of illegal drugs and arrested 51 drug personalities during a week-long series of anti-drug operations across the region.
In a report released by PRO-NIR, authorities said 43 anti-drug operations conducted from May 11 to 17, 2026 resulted in the seizure of about 2.5 kilograms of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P17,424,592.
The operations formed part of the intensified anti-criminality campaign of the regional police force, which also led to arrests and confiscations involving illegal gambling, loose firearms, and wanted persons.
In the campaign against illegal gambling, police apprehended 77 violators and recovered P14,366 in gambling bets during separate operations across the region.
PRO-NIR also strengthened its drive against loose firearms, conducting 29 operations that resulted in the confiscation of 10 firearms, the recovery of six abandoned firearms, and the seizure of one explosive device.
Meanwhile, operations against wanted persons led to the arrest of 95 fugitives, including 15 individuals listed as most wanted persons.
The PRO-NIR said its accomplishments reflected the intensified efforts of law enforcement units to maintain peace and order and curb criminal activities in the Negros Island Region.*
