PRO-NIR unveils NegOr police stations

• RICHARD T. CABALLERO JR.

The Police Regional Office Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) unveiled new municipal police stations in the towns of Jimalalud and La Libertad in Negros Oriental, during its inauguration and blessing ceremony on Wednesday.

The two newly constructed municipal police stations were turned over by Regional Director PBrig. Gen. Arnold Thomas Ibay to the police commanders and personnel of the new facilities.

The turnover of the facility to the Jimalalud MPS was attended by Municipal Mayor Hazel Tuanda, while in La Libertad, Mayor Lawrence Limkaichong Jr. received the turnover of the station.

In his message, Ibay expressed his gratitude to the Local Government Units for their unwavering support of the police. He highlighted the importance of efficient management and the accountability of all personnel as key components of the PNP’s reformation.

“This commitment ensures that facilities are well-maintained, promoting efficient functionality and the effective delivery of services to the community,” he said.

“May this become a symbol of continued cooperation and partnership with our local government as we move forward towards a more efficient and effective police service. We assure you that we will work relentlessly to prevent and control crimes until we make this town a safe and peaceful community,” he added.

The new police stations are expected to enhance response times significantly, improve police visibility, and foster stronger collaboration between law enforcement and the public to ensure a safer and more secure community.

“These improvements reflect PRO NIR’s steadfast commitment to combating criminality, illegal drugs, and all forms of threats to peace and order. This is not merely a symbol of progress; it is a lasting promise of safety, trust, and dedicated service to every citizen,” PLt. Col. Joem Malong said

The milestone reflects PRO-NIR’s steadfast commitment to modernizing law enforcement infrastructure and strengthening community-centered policing for enhanced public safety and service, she added.*
