Bacolod City Mayor Greg Gasataya lauded the City Treasurer’s Office, the City Assessor’s Office, and the Land Tax Division, following a significant P25 million increase in Real Property Tax (RPT) collections for the first four months of 2026.
The mayor revealed that the city’s RPT collections rose to P354.6 million from January to April 2026, a notable jump from the P329.4 million recorded during the same period in 2025.
Gasataya attributed the growth to the city’s intensified information drives and tax campaigns, as well as the implementation of a tax condonation program that encouraged property owners to settle their dues.
The Mayor also highlighted the impact of the Property Assessment and Tax Administration System (PATAS).
Initiated during the term of Bacolod Lone District Representative Alfredo Abelardo Benitez as mayor, the system is now gaining momentum in streamlining tax processes.
“We are in the right direction,” Gasataya stated.
He added that the city government is providing full support to the offices implementing the digital and administrative reforms.
He noted that the gradual effects of the PATAS program are now reflecting in the city’s improved revenue generation, which is vital for funding local priority projects.*
