Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson and Tourism Division head Cheryl Decena lead the opening ceremony of the 24th Provincial Tourism Week celebration at the Ayala Corte Area, Ayala Malls Capitol Central Friday, September 27. This year’s theme is “Tourism and Peace”.
A food parade of the different local food products in Negros Occidental highlights the event’s opening day with festival dancers together with the LGU tourism officers offering the local delicacies to the spectators in the Ayala Corte Area.
The event showcases the best of Negros Occidental through its trade fair booths, local products and delicacies, cultural performances, travel fair, pet festival, fashion show, and DOT accreditation on wheels.
Also present during the event were 1st Distrct Board Member and SP Committee chair on tourism Araceli Samosa, Liga ng mga Barangay -Negros Occidental President Richard Julius Sablan, and the tourism officers from the 32 LGUs in the province. The event was a celebration of the culture, traditions, and everything that makes Negros Occidental truly a Land of Sweet Surprises.
All thirty-two municipalities and cities of Negros Occidental including Bacolod City participated in the event, which runs until October 1.*
