Newly-reelected and proclaimed Mayor of Pulupandan, Miguel Peña, is elated beyond words as he was given a fresh mandate by the people of Pulupandan and emerged as the winner via landslide victory of 14,751 votes over his opponent Rutchel Araneta who got 430 votes in the recently concluded elections.
In his official thanksgiving message the mayor said “With deep humility and overwhelming gratitude, I thank each and every one of you for the trust and support you have once again given me in this election. Your overwhelming mandate is not just a victory, it is a solemn responsibility, and I will carry it with honor, sincerity, and unwavering commitment.
“To our people who went out to vote, who believed in our shared vision, and who placed their hopes for a better future in my leadership, thank you from the bottom of my heart. I will never forget the support you have shown me.
“I will continue to seek projects that will uplift our town, and I will knock on every door, meet with every agency, and seek every opportunity to bring in what Pulupandan needs to grow.
“We have done so much together, but there is still more to be done. With your continued support and our unity as a community, I believe there is no challenge we cannot overcome.
“I also thank all of you for supporting my vice mayor candidate and the 10 SB candidates that were on our team/party. To our two SB candidates who did not make it into our SB Council, you are still part of the Pulupandan family and I look forward to working with the both of you for the betterment of Pulupandan.”
According to a press release, as he is about to start a new term, the mayor plans to implement a new approach in bringing progress in town, by harnessing the assets and utilities that Pulupandan has, such as the presence of the seaport of International standards, and to welcome more business ventures and investment in order to provide livelihood and stability to every Pulupandanon family.*
