The Enriqueta Montilla de Esteban Memorial High School from Pulupandan emerged as the champion of the 12th Bago City Invitational Fancy Drill Competition held at the Manuel Y. Torres Memorial Coliseum and Cultural Center in Bago City, Negros Occidental, in line with the Bagonhons celebrations of Al Cinco de Noviembre.
They received P25,000 in cash and a trophy for winning the championship, their fourth win in a row, since 2017.
John Patrick Mula of the same school was also adjudged as best platoon leader. The school also bagged the best in uniform category, and was chosen the most disciplined.
Aside from being the first runner, the Lopez Jaena High School in Murcia, which received P20,000 in cash, was also adjudged as best in street performance.
The STI West Negros University in Bacolod City, bagged the second runner up title with a cash prize of P15,000. It was also adjudged as best in production number, and best in narration.
Other participants of the fancy drill were Minoyan National High School in Murcia and M.G Medalla Integrated School in Bacolod City.
On the other hand, Cluster 8, composed of Ma-ao, Mailum and Binubuhan barangays bagged the championship in the 25th “Sigabong sang mga Kanyon” competition held at the main streets of Bago City.
The group also won the loudest Booming Cannon award.
Barangays of Poblacion, Lag asan, Tabunan, with Bago City Eagles Club, comprising Cluster 6 bagged the first runner up title.
Cluster 5, composed of barangays of Bagroy,Pacol and Sagasa, was the second runner up, while barangays of Ilijan, Don Jorge Araneta and Bacong, which composed Cluster 1, was third runner up.
The awarding ceremony was held at the Bantayan Park, one of Bago City’s prime tourist destinations.*
