Two headers from two corner kicks on Thursday gave the Polytechnic University of the Philippines Radicals a 2-0 win and the men’s football title in the 26th season of the Philippine University Games.
Scoring the winning markers were Kyle Lacson in the 26th minute and Shawn Mouaña in the 80th.
So tight was the PUP defense that the Radicals held scoreless an otherwise prolific University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos squad that earned a ticket to the finals via a 3-1 decision over the University of the Phililpines-Cebu in Wednesday’s semifinal match.

UP-Cebu settled for third place after blanking University of San Agustin against its lone marker courtesy of Justine Soco.
PUP connected triple markers in holding off the Agustinians scoreless in the other semifinal game.
The champion booters are mentored by Ignatius Anagbogu, head coach, and his assistant, Mark Gilbert Ayuson.* PR/Unigames Media
