A total of 266 persons with disabilities (PWDs) in E. B. Magalona yesterday received their wages under the BuhayNihan Cash-for-Work Program, during the payout at the town public plaza.
The payout was facilitated by the Office of Mayor Marvin Malacon, through the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO).
Each beneficiary received P4,500 for 10 days of work, or P450 per day. They conducted clean-up in coastal barangays, tree-growing activities in upland barangays, clearing of drainage and road-clearing operations from December 16 to 25.
Leading the payout were DSWD-KALAHI-CIDSS Team Leader and Municipal Finance Analyst Jenelyn Bedrio and MSWDO Social Welfare Officer Emy Lyn Hibionada.
BuhayNihan stands for “Buhay at Bayanihan Para sa Mamamayan,” a livelihood assistance program of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. under the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD)- Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan-Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (KALAHI-CIDSS).*
