Sipalay City in Negros Occidental, was jolted yesterday by a magnitude 2.5 earthquake, according to a report of the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
The quake occurred at 5:20 a.m. in Sipalay City, Negros Occidental, while Siaton town in Negros Oriental was also jolted by a 1.8 magnitude quake at 6: 53 p.m. yesterday, both reported to be tectonic in origin.
Phivolcs also recorded 15 volcanic earthquakes at the Kanlaon volcano, which remains on Alert Level 1, as of this time.*
