A resolution expressing the profound appreciation and gratitude of the Sangguniang Panlungsod of Bacolod City for the philanthropy and selflessness of all the corporate officers and owners of South Hills Academy, Inc. (SHAI) headed by its president Ramon Lacson, Jr., in allowing the free utilization of SHAI premises and facilities in Barangay Alijis as quarantine/isolation center for COVID-19 positive patients of Bacolod City, was approved by the SP during its regular session yesterday.

The resolution authored by Councilor Renecito Novero said that on March 25, 2020 City Administrator Em Ang, in behalf of Mayor Evelio Leonardia and the City of Bacolod, wrote Lacson requesting for permission to use the premises and facilities of South Hills Academy in Barangay Alijis as Quarantine/Isolation Center for Bacolod City residents who have been found positive of COVID-19 virus.

Lacson in behalf of South Hills Academy, Inc., replied to the letter of Ang informing that her request was accordingly granted, it said.

For more than a year now, the City of Bacolod has utilized free of charge the premises and facilities of SHAI as quarantine/isolation facility for COVID-19 positive patients until they recover, the resolution said.

South Hills Academy has already housed and served thousands of Bacolod residents who have been infected with COVID-19 virus, it said.

The resolution said this philanthropic and heroic deed of Lacson and his fellow corporate officers/owners of SHAI at such a crisis time as this has greatly helped the City of Bacolod in responsibly and effectively managing the COVID-19 crisis in the City.*
