Radio block timer Rey Siason experienced another incident of harassment, as his residence was reportedly strafed by two unidentified suspects on Sunday night at Carmela Valley Homes in Talisay City, Negros Occidental.
Siason, a radio block timer of RPN, DYKB, and DYRL, and a former president of the Negros Press Club, was unhurt but shaken by the incident. He disclosed that successive gunshots hit the windshield of his Toyota Fortuner sport utility vehicle, Honda motorcycle, and the front gate of his residence.
Policemen who responded to the incident, recovered 16 empty shells and eight deformed slugs of a caliber .45 pistol.
Based on the testimonies of witnesses, Siason said two suspects were seen fleeing from the scene of the incident.
He recalled that his residence was also fired upon by unidentified suspects on September 19, 2019.
He believes that the two incidents may be related.
Siason further said he is also inclined to believe that the latest shooting incident was related to his media work, as he tackles issues on graft and corruption against politicians in the cities of Bacolod, Talisay, and Silay in Negros Occidental.
He already has two persons of interest in mind, who may have something to do with the latest incident.
Siason, however, said he will wait for the outcome of the investigation being conducted by the Talisay City Police Station, before initiating any legal action against the suspects.
P/Lt. Roberto Arrazola Jr., deputy police chief of Talisay, said the incident may have been job related.
The motive of the incident is still being established by the police.*
