A suspected member of the New People’s Army was apprehended by the police and Army soldiers on July 28 in Brgy. Bulwangan, Hinobaan, Negros Occidental.

Nabbed by virtue of an arrest warrant for the crime of attempted murder was Adrian Omilig, with aliases of Tortor and Niko, 23, of the barangay.

The arrest warrant was issued by Kabankalan Regional Trial Court Judge Rodney Magbanua, who recommended P120,000 bail.

PCapt. Ramel Bustamante, acting Hinobaan police chief, yesterday said he received reports that Omilig has been inactive in the rebel movement.

However, Bustamante said the investigation is still ongoing as of this time.

Omilig, whose arrest warrant was served by the Hinobaan police and 15th Infantry Battalion, is now detained at the municipal police station custodial facility.*
