• GILBERT P. BAYORAN

An alleged member of the New People’s Army, who is facing murder charges, was arrested by the police on Tuesday in Barangay Bandila, Toboso, Negros Occidental.

The accused, identified only through his alias as Wil, 34, was reported to have been a member of Yunit Militia under the dismantled North Negros Front.

He was nabbed by virtue of a warrant of arrest for murder, with no bail recommended, according to a report of the Police Regional Office.

In a statement, the Police Regional Office 6 said it remains committed to upholding the rule of law and ensuring that individuals with warrants of arrest are held accountable.

From February 10 to 16 this year, the PRO 6 reported the arrest of 241 fugitives in the region, of which 41 are classified as most wanted persons.*
