A member of the New People’s Army surrendered a 12-gauge shotgun and a rifle grenade to authorities on Tuesday, in Silay City, Negros Occidental.
The NPA member, whose identity was withheld for security reasons, is a resident of Sitio Binalawan, Brgy. Tapi, Kabankalan City.
His surrender was facilitated by the Silay police and 79th Infantry Battalion, after months of negotiations.
He is now undergoing debriefing, and expected to receive assistance from the government, through its Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program.*
