The New People’s Army Roselyn Jean Pelle Command that the military has claimed as dismantled issued a statement owning responsibility for the summary execution of a civilian that they accused as a military informant on March 11 in Sitio Tinawgan, Barangay Consing, E.B. Magalona, Negros Occidental.
In a statement, rebel spokesperson Ka Cecil Estrella alleged that Efren Solinap, alias Dacol, was meted revolutionary justice for the capital offense of espionage and robbery with murder.
Solinap, a 60-year-old barangay watchman, was gunned down as he and his companion were clearing the drainage ditch of a sugarcane field, when three unidentified persons emerged from the sugarcane field and shot him, according to the E.B. Magalona police.
Estrella further alleged that Solinap served as an active spy and guide in military operations, coordinated with local intelligence networks of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, red-tagged, harassed, and placed on surveillance civilians over mere suspicions of links with the revolutionary movement.
The NPA called on all intelligence assets of the AFP and anti-social peddlers in E.B. Magalona and adjacent areas to surrender to the nearest NPA unit before the long arm of revolutionary justice reaches them.*
