The Diocesan Commission on Prison Ministry, Diocese of Bacolod conducted the first volunteer in Prison Service Recollection at the CICM Maryshore, Talisay City on July 28, with the theme “Expressing God’s Merciful Power in Prison Service by Walking in the Footstep of Padre Pio.”
The recollection was headed by DCPM director Rev. Fr. Robert Locsin of The Marian Missionaries of the Holy Cross, and Baba Monfort, lay convenor for Western Visayas, a press release said.
A holy mass celebrated by Locsin, director of the Commission, followed the inspirational talk given by Rev. Fr. Arceo “Aris” Dormido, and Rev. Fr. Anelo “Jojie” Ansula, which inspired the volunteers at the recollection.
The event, which was conducted after a long hiatus because of the pandemic, was considered successful and was attended by different representatives from different parishes and lay organizations from the Dioceses of Bacolod, guests, as well as Women in the Arts.*
