The Bacolod Sangguniang Panlungsod is requesting President Rodrigo Duterte, through the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhhilHealth), to reconsider the decision of halting the “unlimited dialysis treatment program” for dialysis patients starting Sept. 16.
The resolution, authored by Councilor Cindy Rojas, stated that majority of dialysis patients from Bacolod are greatly affected financially by the coronavirus disease pandemic.
The resolution said that most of these patients do not have enough resources to support their medical needs.
PhilHealth has announced recently that it will no longer shoulder the procedure for dialysis patients after Sept. 15 due to the lifting
of the 6-month declaration of the State of Calamity in the Philippines.
PhilHealth is the lead agency that is in charge of assisting less fortunate dialysis patients.*
