Reelected governor, officials to take oath June 28

• GILBERT P. BAYORAN

Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson is expected to lead on June 28 the oathtaking of reelected and newly elected provincial officials of Negros Occidental who won in the recently concluded May 12 elections.

Other elected provincial officials are Vice Governor-elect Jose Benito Alonso, Board Members Araceli Somoza and Marxlen de la Cruz (1st district), Arthur Christoper Marañon and Sixto Pal Guanzon (2nd district), Andrew Montelibano and Hope Marey Depasucat (3rd district); Nicholas Yulo and Paula Alonso (4th district), Rita Gatuslao and Hadji Trujillo (5th district), and Jeffrey Tubola and Ralph Alvarez (6th district).

Lacson, who will be on his third and final term as governor of Negros Occidental, vowed to do his best to complete infrastructure projects within his term, including the continued development of the Mambukal Mountain Resort and the bulk water project.

Rest assured, the provincial government of Negros Occidental will always be responsive to the needs of the Negrenses under the slogan “Abanse Negrense,” the reelected governor said.

Lacson also refused to talk about 2028 politics in Negros Occidental, as he asked the media to give him two and a half years to work.*
