Voter’s registration in Bacolod City for the 2020 presidential elections was low compared to previous months since its resumption on October 1, Bacolod Election Officer Jan Anthony Saril said yesterday.
Saril said voters registration is automatically suspended once a city or municipality is placed under Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ).
The Commission on Elections-Bacolod will be open every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. but will be closed every Sunday and Monday, he said.
They can accommodate about 100 applicants a day but when they resumed on October 1 to 3, only 55 applicants came to register, Saril said.
He also reminded applicants to observe minimum health standards when they enter the registration area. Applicants are required to fill up some basic information, he said.
Satellite and special voter registration are still suspended, Saril added.*
