The members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod are appealing to the Bacolod City Water District- Prime Water Infrastructure Corporation to consider the immediate reinstatement of the 60 dismissed Baciwa workers per decision of the Civil Service Commission Regional Office.

The resolutions authored by Councilors Archie Baribar and Wilson Gamboa Jr.,  said, the 60 Baciwa employees were terminated from work as a consequence of a Joint Venture Agreement entered by Baciwa and Prime Water, which resulted to a case filed before the CSC by the workers concerned against the management.

It said that recently, a judgement in favor of the dismissed Baciwa employees was promulgated by the CSC for their reinstatement and back wages.

The resolution said it is to the best interest of the city that industrial peace prevails in the water district as a  prolonged litigation will not only place the city in a bad light but will expend valuable energies and resources to concerns other that providing safe, potable and affordable water supply to the consuming public.

CSC Regio-6 Director Nelson Sarmiento of ordered the reinstatement of the 59 terminated BACIWA employees recently nut the firm decided to delay it while they are still seeking legal remedies.*
