Residential fire causes P3.3M damage

More or less P3,375,000 worth of property damage was left by a fire that broke out at Gardenville, Barangay Tangub, in Bacolod City on Saturday afternoon, according to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Bacolod City.

Based on the report of the BFP, a residential house owned by Remedios Juntela caught on fire at around 5 o’clock in the afternoon, leading to the total damage of the two-story house.

Initial reports indicated that the fire directly affected four families, totaling thirteen individuals. Fortunately, the firefighters were able to control the fire and rescue the residents. No injuries and fatalities were reported.

The blaze was declared under control at 6:04 p.m. leaving the house completely ruined. No other establishment or neighboring houses were affected by the incident.

Twenty-two firefighters from the BFP responded to the incident and confirmed that the fire was extinguished by responding units and with the help of the Chamber Volunteer Fire Brigade.

As of press time, the cause of the fire remains undetermined, as the BFP is continuing to assess and investigate the scene to determine the possible cause of the fire.*
