Mayor Raymund Tongson issued a statement that the resignation of the Himamaylan “Tent City” Incident Commander did not push through.
While a resignation letter was initially submitted due to internal organizational concerns and conflicts with certain members within the Unified Command System of the Himamaylan Tent City, the matter has since been fully resolved under his supervision, according to Tongson.
The mayor, however, did not name the incident commander who initially submitted her resignation.
Consequently, the incident commander remains in position and continues to perform her duties and responsibilities, Tongson added.
Furthermore, I must emphasize that there was no allegation, implication, or involvement of corruption in the resignation letter, or in any of the incidents that transpired, he said, stressing also that the issue was purely an internal matter which has since been properly addressed.
Any speculation or misinformation suggesting otherwise is entirely unfounded, Tongson pointed out.
We remain steadfast in our commitment to transparency, integrity, and the efficient execution of disaster response operations within the Unified Command System of the Himamaylan Tent City, he added.
The tent city located in Barangay 3, Himamaylan City is earmarked for Kanlaon evacuees.*
