A retired teacher from Talisay City, Negros Occidental opened a solo art exhibit in her residence at Domingo Lizares Street in the city on December 20.
Pablita Nava, a former Architectural Drafting teacher at Paglaum State College (now Carlos Hilado Memorial State University), is showcasing her artworks at the Nava Art Gallery, which she opened after her retirement in 2013. At the entrance of the gallery is a room she labelled “Toy Kingdom”, which displays a collection of toys her grandchildren have outgrown.
Her latest works include small floral paintings using acrylic paint, while her gallery also displays other works in different mediums and sizes. She considers painting not just a passion but a form of therapy as well.
Guests of honor at the opening were executive assistant to the mayor RJ Tuvilla and Art Association of Bacolod-Negros treasurer Patty Ong.*
