The return of locally stranded individuals to Ilog in Negros Occidental will be suspended for two weeks.
This was after the Regional Inter-Agency Task Force (RIATF) for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases-Western Visayas has approved the request of Ilog town in Negros Occidental for the suspension of arrivals of LSIs from Dec. 20 to Jan. 3 next year.
The Ilog municipal government asked the RIATF for a two-week moratorium for them to have sufficient time to prepare their quarantine facilities for the incoming LSIs.
The Ilog Municipal Health Office reported that they have not monitored cases of COVID-19 local transmission, although they had two active cases, as of Nov. 14.
Barangay Manalad in Ilog was also placed under preventive lockdown, while contact tracing is ongoing, as an offshoot of two positive cases in the area, the Ilog MHO said in its issued advisory.
Earlier, the RIATF also suspended the inbound travel for LSIs in Cadiz City, that took effect Nov. 15 to 30, and from Nov. 16 to 21 in La Castellana.*GPB
