Eleven police mobile troopers were reported injured as a result of a vehicular crash yesterday along the national road of Purok 1 in Brgy. Caningay, Candoni, Negros Occidental.

Initial police investigations showed that troopers of the 604th Mobile Force Company, under the supervision of Regional Mobile Force Battalion, were conducting a routine road patrol when the JMC troop carrier vehicle driven by Patrolman Emam James Apucay crashed into the right most shoulder of the road, due to defective brakes.

Although the vehicle flipped over as a result of the incident, 11 of the 16 RMFB6 troopers only suffered minor injuries.

The injured police troopers who were brought to the Candoni Rural Health Unit for treatment of their injuries were Patrolmen Emam James Apucay, Jerome Tolentino, Joey Bana ag, Eric Abela, Bryan Ambaja, and Jared King Davivas Cpl. Mark Jel Salazar, Cpl. John Arevalo and Cpl. Reggie Tacdoro, Cpl. Reggie Tacdoro, Cpl. Kenneth Valiao

Further police investigations showed that the incident took place while the vehicle was descending on a curved portion of the road and its driver was unable to control the troop carrier, due to faulty brakes.

The 11 injured police troopers were later transferred to Holy Mother of Mercy Hospital in Kabankalan City for further treatment.*
