A collision between a pickup truck and a tricycle killed the 44-year-old driver of the latter along the National Highway of Purok Cosmos, Barangay Calumangan, Bago City, Negros Occidental, at around 1:50 a.m. on Monday.
The male fatality was identified as alias “Leo,” 44-years-old and a resident of Saint Ezekiel Moreno, Barangay Handuman, in Bacolod City, who was driving a Rusi top down tricycle. Meanwhile, the police identified the driver of the Black Ford Ranger pickup truck, as alias “Dexter,” 47-years-old, a resident of Purok Camperme, Barangay Nanunga in Hinigaran town.
Investigation by the Bago Component City Police Station revealed that the pickup truck was traversing the route from Bacolod City going to Bago City, while the tricycle was also going in the same direction.
Police said that the truck hit the rear portion of the tricycle of alias “Leo,” who sustained serious injuries, resulting in his death.
The pickup incurred damage at its front portion, while the tricycle was damaged at the rear and front portions.
After the incident, the driver of the truck, who suffered no injuries, voluntarily submitted himself to the authorities and is now under police custody for proper disposition.*
