Two elder women died, while 15 others sustained injuries, as a result of a vehicular mishap on April 23 at the national highway of Sitio Dungon in Brgy. Talaban, Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental.

Edna Tupas, 61, and Rose Baguios, 59, were both declared dead on arrival at the Valeriano Gatuslao Memorial District Hospital in Himamaylan, according to the Himamaylan City police.

Initial police investigations show that the H100 van was traveling from Brgy Nabali-an going to Himamaylan City, when the driver lost control of the vehicle that fell on its side.

Of the 15 injured passengers, seven are being treated in the different hospitals, while eight others were released after treatment for minor injuries.

Four of the injured victims are minors, police records show.

Another vehicular collision also took place on Saturday at the national highway of Purok Balungay in Brgy. Calumangan, Bago City, Negros Occidental.

Police investigations also showed that motorcycle driven by Ryan Arana figured in a collision with Fuso wing van driven by Edmund Lomogdang.

Arana is currently being treated for his injuries at Bago City Hospital.*
