Three armed robbers barged into a restaurant in Brgy. Mansilingan, Bacolod City at about 2 a.m. yesterday and fled on a car and a motorcycle parked outside the establishment.
Station 7 commander, P/Capt. Elmer Bonilla, said the suspects, described to be below 20 years old and armed with unknown guns, attempted to rob the Boss Restaurant at Regeant Pearl Homes Subdivision.
But Bonilla said that since the restaurant had no cash because it only caters to online and cashless transactions, the suspects decided to rob food delivery driver Ray Clavario, who was at the restaurant waiting for his order.
Clavario, 29, of Glendale Subdivision in Brgy. Granada, Bacolod, told the police that the suspects took his cellular phone, P3,000 in cash, and his Honda beat motorcycle where about P7,000 was kept in its u-box.
Aside from his motorcycle, the suspects also took the Gray Toyota Wigo of Pearl Joy Dequena, 26, of Regent Pearl Homes Subdivision that was parked nearby, Bonilla said.
The suspects also took the three cell phones and laptop computer of Dequena and her companion, identified as Patrick Ledesma, 29, also of the subdivision, Bonilla said.
Dequena’s vehicle was later found abandoned at Gonzaga Street in Brgy. 25, Bacolod, while Clavario’s motorcycle is still missing.
P/ SSgt Jesar Nepocpan, investigator on case, said they will ask for copies of the video recorded by closed-circuit television cameras of nearby establishments for the possible identification of the suspects.
Nepocpan said two of the suspects who entered the store covered their faces with handkerchiefs, while their companion served as lookout.*
