The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) has reported a decrease in robbery incidents within the city following a series of successful operations and the apprehension of several suspects.
BCPO Public Information Officer Spokesperson Capt. Dax Santillan said that the suspects were neutralized through the execution of search warrants and intensified law enforcement efforts.
According to the Crime Incident Reporting System, the first week of March, spanning March 1 to 7, saw three recorded robbery incidents.
This included an arrest made by Police Station 6 involving a suspect apprehended at Roxas Avenue.
The following week, from March 8 to 14, the city recorded zero robbery incidents.
For the current week, a single report was filed under Police Station 3, though the suspect in that case was immediately arrested.
Santillan noted that many of those taken into custody are repeat offenders with prior records related to robbery.
The BCPO attributes the decline in crime to strengthened police visibility and intelligence monitoring throughout the city.*
