On the occasion of Romeo Alincastre’s 95th birthday, his family hosted a dinner party in his honor at Sugarland Hotel last August 3.
The evening affair was a gathering of family – his wife, six children, siblings, grandchildren; relatives; and friends. A prayer of thanksgiving was offered for his 95th birthday and for the bountiful blessings that have come his way through the years. Video clips capturing memories of the past 95 years and a trivia game about the celebrant were featured during the event. It was a night of fellowship, fun and reminiscing between and among kindred spirits.
The eldest in a brood of twelve children, Romeo and his wife, Gertrudes, are blessed with six children (three boys and three girls) who are all professionals, with five of them now living in the United States, along with 11 grandchildren.
Romeo earned his electrical engineering degree from the International Correspondence Schools based in Pennsylvania, USA, and ranked fourth in the professional licensure examination. He also took and passed the Master Electrician examination garnering the top 3 spot. He was employed as an electrical engineer in various sugar centrals in Negros and Iloilo for many years before moving to the United States with his wife after his retirement.
Romeo remains mentally alert and physically mobile at the age of 95, and looks forward to celebrating more birthdays with his loved ones in the years to come.*
