Junior and Senior High students are to benefit from the year-long training that will provide necessary skills and knowledge in welding technology, baking and cooking, and engage in small enterprises that will provide added financial opportunities.
This would also help spur economic development in the area, in terms of entrepreneurship in bakeshop, bakery and restaurants, while providing job prospects for SMAW trainees in the shipbuilding industry located in Balamban, Cebu where students may be able to secure potential employment.
The TechVoc Skills Training in Baking, Cooking and Welding is designed to address the two areas of focus of Rotary International in basic education and supporting local economies and is a continuing project of the Rotary Club of Bacolod.*
