
The Rotary Club of Bacolod warmly welcomed District 3850 Governor Richard Centino, an inspiration in the realm of selfless leadership and humanitarian service, at the Boardroom 1 and 2, of O’ Hotel, on September 29, where the stage was set for a memorable encounter that would shape the direction of Rotary Club of Bacolod’s noble mission in serving humanity.
According to a press release, the program started with a moment of prayer for the eternal repose of the soul of Concepcion Ybanez y Torres, mother-in-law of DG Centino who passed away recently.
The gathering during the governor’s visit included Past District Governor Edgar Sy, President Marjorie Dino, the club officers, board of directors, and members and guests.
Dino presented the tapestry of the Club’s membership update, achievements, pipeline projects, and the approved global grant roll out program. The discussion wasn’t just about service projects and membership; it was about preparing a brighter tomorrow and crafting plans in the communities that Rotary Club of Bacolod serves. She quoting from Lisa Haisa “Great Leaders don’t set out to be a Leader, they set out to make a difference. It’s never about the role – always about the Goal.”
The governor’s visit was highlighted with the induction of the club’s newest members with different backgrounds, who expressed interest to give back to the community, namely Hana Isabela Hautea, Marilyn Dormido, and Michael Gaerlan.
Leading the charging of the new members was Past President Jesus Jonathan Avelino while administering the induction of membership was District Governor Richard Centino.
The introduction of the visiting guest and Rotarians was led by Rotarian Sam Solon who recognized Assistant Governor for Zone 6 – Julie Ann Carbon, Naty Ong Sy, Lovely Sevilla, Dr. Bamby Avelino, Mr. Kent of the DG Entourage.
Capping off the visit was the governor’s district update and inspirational message to the club. A short inspiring message from Carbon and the presentation of token appreciation to the district governor followed.*
