A former commander of the elite PNP Special Action Force has been designated the new police chief of Sagay City, Negros Occidental.

PLt. Col. John Mocyat, a former commander of the Sagay-based Special Action Battalion 6 of the PNP SAF, replaced PLt. Col. Roberto Indiape.

The turnover of command on June 1 was presided by PCol. Leo Pamittan, provincial police director of Negros Occidental, also witnessed by Sagay City Mayor Narciso “Narwin” Javelosa Jr.

During his speech, Javelosa pledged his full support to Mocyat, as he thanked Indiape for his services rendered to Sagaynons.

Indiape also thanked Sagay City officials and the Sagaynons for their support during his stint as city police chief.

Mocyat, on the other hand, urged the Sagay police to serve the people with utmost integrity, courage, fairness, and dedication, stressing also that he expects the rights of police officers to be respected and upheld.*
