“In art, imagination does not stay still. A child may have no riches, no power, no crown, only his art and limitless imagination that runs untamed.”
Sagay-based visual artist Christopher Fernandez of Topiko’s Art opened his solo art exhibition titled “From Child’s Play to Kingship,” at McCafe, McDonalds, The Upper East, Bacolod City on June 20, showcasing his works that capture the essence of a child’s limitless imagination and the weight of responsibility.
Each piece transitions into the next, echoing a child’s journey from innocence to authority. Transformation from playful creation into a symbol of kingship proves that within each act of play, lies a profound purpose. A king is not one who conquers others, but the one to remember how to love humanity, the artist’s statement said.
Fernandez is a Farm Management graduate of the University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos, and is presently employed at the Veterinary Office of Sagay City.
He is a storyteller and imaginative artist of Pintor Kulapon of Sagay, and also a member of the Negrense Artists Circle Inc. (NACI).

Guests of honor at the opening were Anabella Vasques, Choice Gourmet Banquet Inc. operation consultant; Xz Los Bañes, McDonald’s The Upper East restaurant general manager; and Queenie Gonzales, McDonald’s The Upper East customer experience manager.*
